I Love All Things ArabianSeptember 30 Arabian Nights by the Beach - Week 3That Big-Momma Pebbles from Hawaii was absolutely hilarious and a sheer delight to watch. I think that many of us who were there learnt a thing or two about Hawaiian culture, e.g. greeting one another by kissing of the cheeks, hehe! And Kudos to those who participated in the Hawaiian dress up competition. You guys really lighted up the night with your spontaneity and sporting-ness. Quite amazing how the organizers actually managed to fuse Arabian with Hawaiian, but it was extremely well done. Hey, heard that this week will be the last of our performances? Is it ending that quickly already. Haiz, I¹m going to miss all the fun. For those who haven¹t been to the event, please hurry down this weekend. I promise you you¹ll really regret it if you don¹t! There¹s the Bedouin Groove Pop Fusion Band performing this Sat and I heard these guys can really make music. So see you there, from 6.30-10pm @ Cool Deck, Siloso Beach. September 24 Arabian Nights by the Beach - Week 2Oei! My darlings Jen and Tricia, play me out hor! Thought you guys were going to support me at last Sat's performance. No show! Haha. Well, it¹s your loss that you weren't there coz there were soooo many cute guys at the event. Overall, it was really fun and exciting. It's not everyday that you get to perform in front of so many people. And the setup was just sooo interesting. It was very immersive and makes you feel as if you were being taken to the Middle East for a moment. The crowd was also really warm and just fantastic. I could see many of them clapping, dancing, singing along, and really enjoying themselves. It was like one whole big festival. This week cannot dua me again, ok you guys? It's Arabian meets Hawaiian this week and there'll even be a Hawaiian dress-up competition... soooo exciting. Oh yah, another reason why Jen shouldn't miss the event for the world...FOOD! They were serving this chicken dinner meal which was extremely delicious! This Sat I'm going there to da bao (greedy me @ work!) And just a couple of days before, I promised to stay away from gorging. Haha. Hey, for the rest of you people who are reading this blog, do come say hi if you are at the event yeah? Once again, it¹s at the Cool Deck, Siloso Beach this Sat from 6.30 10.30pm September 05 Bellydance your way to a healthier youI took up bellydancing about 1 and a half years ago, and since then, I have been loving every minute of it. Bellydancing is not only great as an exercise, but for overall well being too! It's really fun, natural, and great for making friends, especially those with the same passion as me. Best of all, no backbreaking exercise routines or horrible diet plans to follow. Definitely highly recommended by mua for those who would like to lose weight. Here are some other health benefits that I found from my research. Overall health Belly dancing is a form "of 'aerobics' which really gets the heart going. I was really prone to illnesses and injuries before, but that frequency is a lot less nowadays. The body releases natural endomorphins during aerobic activity which results in a "high". That’s probably why I’m ‘addicted’ to exercise. Also, bellydancing is a great way to relieve stress. Try it to believe. J Body toning Belly Dancing is great for people like me who are dream of a totally toned body. Muscles that are not used turn into fat and flab very easily, eew! With the highly energetic and celebratory style of belly dance, areas of the legs, arms, belly, abs and butt automatically become shapely and firm. Also, belly dancing helps zoom on the smaller muscles, giving you a more even workout. Any takers? For the joints and bones! This section is definitely not just for the old fogeys, hehe. I do have friends who complain about pains, which according to a book I read, may lead to more complex conditions in future. Stiff necks, lower back strains, and knee pains are the most common. Belly dancing as an aerobic activity helps to strengthen joints and lower the occurrence of pains and injuries. It is a recommended exercise for those seeking a low impact workout, or for those suffering from arthritis.
